New and Noteworthy

  • The National Federation for the Blind has expressed concern about the continued participation of colleges and universities in an e-text pilot program involving Educause and Internet2. NFB asserts that program is being implemented without addressing some clear accessibility barriers. The accessibility problems identified by the University of Minnesota in an earlier pilot are the primary source of concern. (See Campus Technology 10/02/12).
  • The results of the Department of Justice’s survey of compliance with Section 508 have been published: Section 508 Report on Accessibility of Federal Electronic and Informational Technology (www.ada.gov).
